The Miami Dolphins’ continued roster churn should have you side-eyeing one position on the roster
Miami Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is looking to churn the roster and their interest in one spot is worth keeping an eye on.
The Miami Dolphins‘ roster has been turned upside down in just about every way imaginable this offseason.
Quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends, the offensive line, linebackers, and the secondary have all seen major change. About the only two spots that haven’t seen a major swap in or out? Running back and defensive tackle. The defensive tackle group is understandable, given the presence of veteran Zach Sieler and three second-year players drafted in 2025. But running back? The Dolphins keep poking around. And it’s worth watching.
The Miami Dolphins’ continued interest in running backs is worth monitoring

The big move thus far this offseason at running back has been, of course, the long-term extension for De’Von Achane. His four-year, $64 million deal with the team will keep him as a centerpiece of the offense for years to come. But behind him is still the same duo of young runners from last year: Ollie Gordon II and Jaylen Wright.
The Dolphins tried to add competition when the forked over a handsome sum of guaranteed money (six figures) to undrafted rookie RB Le’Veon Moss after the 2026 NFL Draft. He retired days after rookie minicamp. Miami’s response? The team signed Carlos Henderson Jr. in free agency and have worked out veteran running back Zamir White.
Maybe the Miami Dolphins still intend on running it back with last year’s trio of backs. But, at a minimum, the team appears dead set on making sure no one in that room (aside of Achane) feels comfortable. The prodding continues to find a legitimate threat to the roster. Is it a precursor of Miami anticipating a possible trade? Just trying to keep the fire lit under a group that has a lot of young players? We won’t know until we know. But I, for one, am watching.
