What a top Vols insider said before David Gabriel Georges’ official visit to Tennessee is exactly what’s happening
The Tennessee Volunteers are hosting 2027 five-star David Gabriel Georges on his official visit this weekend. Gabriel Georges is one of the top players in the 2027 recruiting class.
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is on his official visit to Tennessee this weekend.
And it’s reportedly going well.
It’s going so well, in fact, that Rivals.com’s Chad Simmons says he’s “close” to predicting that Tennessee will land the highly coveted running back.
“Two separate sources connected to Tennessee and the recruitment indicated growing confidence that the Vols are in a strong position,” reported Simmons on Saturday.
David Gabriel Georges’ official visit is playing out almost exactly like a top Vols insider said it would
Gabriel Georges’ visit to Tennessee comes a week after he took his official visit to Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are the Vols’ top competition in this battle.
Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman placed a prediction for the Buckeyes to land Gabriel Georges following his official visit to Ohio State last weekend.
That prediction was made in large part because of how well the official visit to Ohio State went.
VolQuest’s Austin Price, however, said last week that no decision has been made by Gabriel Georges.
Price also said that he expects Tennessee to feel the same coming out of this weekend, so it’s no surprise that the Vols seem to be regaining some momentum during this visit.
But as Price also noted, it’s very unlikely that Gabriel Georges will make a final decision at the end of his official visit to Tennessee. He’ll likely take a few weeks to marinate on the visits before making a decision.
“Ohio State feels good coming off of their official visit this past weekend,” said Price this week on 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will. “You expected that they would. Why would they not? I mean, it’s hard to have a bad time on an official visit… Tennessee feels good about where they’re at entering the weekend. Ohio State feels good about where they’re at exiting the weekend.”
“I do not believe DGG has decided one way or the other,” added Price. “I don’t believe he’ll have decided when he leaves [Tennessee] this weekend. He may have a feeling, but I think he’s going to take the next several weeks and work toward trying to figure out what he wants to do.”
The positive vibes are good news for the Volunteers, but this battle is far from over. And that’s the way it should be. Gabriel Georges, after all, needs to take some time to make sure he’s making the right decision for him, not for anyone else.
