The Oklahoma Sooners are having their biggest recruiting weekend in a long time. 15 recruits for the 2027 class are on campus—10 are already committed, while five remain uncommitted. Recent reports suggest the visit was successful.

Green, linebacker Case Alexander, cornerbacks Trenton Blaylock and Jaiden Fields, and lineman Jaxon Lawler were the five uncommitted players on campus. Green ended up committing by Sunday, showing just how good the recruiting weekend was.

The Sooners addressed their biggest need after a huge mistake last week. They did it in an exceptionally short time. Just last week, they lost two wide receivers; now they have two in their class.

Recently, Demare Dezeurn, a four-star wide receiver who was one of the first 2027 commits, parted ways with the team. Parker Thune of SoonerScoop reported that the two sides basically grew apart. Following that, on Saturday night, Tra’Von Hall decommitted and flipped to Ole Miss. Now, these are the WRs in the class: Greydon Howell and Green.

Sooners still need one more receiver in the 2027 class

The Sooners still need one more receiver in the 2027 recruiting class. They need a receiver who’s different than the two they have on the roster.

Green is 5’10, 180 pounds—fast, explosive, and versatile. He’s not the type of receiver the Sooners usually go after. But then again, he’s similar to Howell. They’re both on the shorter side, have smaller frames, and are very, very fast. But Howell seems to be the higher-rated player.

In fact, 247Sports is the only site that ranks Green, whereas ESPN and Rivals don’t. 247 has him as the No. 163 wide receiver in the class and the No. 16 player in the state of Missouri, since he’s from St. Louis. The Sooners were ahead of this one, beating out Nebraska for Green.

They need a big body receiver, or bigger, and a guy who’s a great route runner. Maybe they get that, as they have till February to finish up their class.
