Vols insider shares insight on Tennessee’s new Adidas uniforms after Nebraska’s disastrous reveal following Cornhuskers’ switch to Adidas

The Tennessee Vols are officially moving from Adidas to Nike on July 1, and some fans are worried about what the uniforms will look like after the switch.
That’s mostly because Nebraska fans were recently very unhappy with how their uniforms look after switching to Adidas.
VolQuest’s Austin Price was asked about Tennessee’s switch to Adidas — and whether Vols fans should be nervous after the disastrous Nebraska reveal — during an appearance this week on WNML’s Josh and Swain.
Price doesn’t believe the Vols’ uniforms will undergo a major change, though he admitted he didn’t want to reveal too much (as to not spoil Tennessee’s reveal).
“I’m going to leave that to the people on campus,” said Price. “They put all that work into getting to this point, and we’ll let them unveil it a little over a week from now. Hopefully Tennessee fans are happy with everything that Adidas gets done. Obviously, some Nebraska people weren’t real happy with what they’ve done to their uniforms.
“Tennessee, I think, was a little more hands on. I don’t think you’ll see a huge difference outside of the logo going from the (Nike) check to the three stripes. I think it’ll be pretty similar in a lot of ways. Obviously, the helmet is not done by Adidas — that’s a different deal. I think a lot of it will look the same. I’m interested to see how the orange on the Nike uniform looks [compared] to the orange on the (new) Tennessee uniform. But as far as the actual design of the uniforms, I think they’ll be pretty similar.”
Price obviously didn’t want to spoil anything for Tennessee, but he essentially reassured fans that there won’t be some crazy change they’ll hate.
Tennessee, for the most part, has done well under athletic director Danny White of understanding what fans want (bringing back the V-O-L-S letters at Neyland for example), so I think there should be some confidence here that Adidas will get these uniforms right.
