The Tennessee Vols officially made the switch from Nike to Adidas this month.

On Friday, after rolling out new uniforms all week, the new Volunteers merch from Adidas launched.

And let me tell you: Adidas made quite the statement about just how invested they are in Tennessee.

The front page of the Adidas website on Friday morning featured Vols wide receiver TK Keys. It’s the very first thing fans saw on Friday when visiting adidas.com.

That’s a pretty big deal considering Spain and Belgium are set to play in a World Cup quarterfinal match on Friday afternoon.

Instead of putting Spain and superstar Lamine Yamal as the featured athletes on the website on Friday, Adidas went with the Vols and Keys.

You can see Yamal just below Keys in the screenshot from the mobile Adidas website below.

Adidas is a global brand, and Yamal is one of the most famous athletes on the planet right now (the 18-year-old phenom has 49.5 million followers on Instagram).

This is a big deal. And it’s just the beginning of a partnership that’s going to be incredibly beneficial to Tennessee.

The Vols’ goal is to be annually competitive in all sports. And in this current era, a deal like this is necessary to make that happen.

Tennessee nailed this decision. Adidas is going to be a game changer for the Vols.
