Full extent of Baker Mayfield’s injury info leaked ahead of new season of Netflix’s Quarterback and it shows how tough he is
Baker Mayfield’s 2025 injuries are well-documented in the Netflix’s new season of Quarterback and it adds a lot of context behind the decline in his play over the course of the 2025 season.
Baker Mayfield is slated to be one of the four quarterbacks on Netflix’s latest season of the hit show Quarterback, which will provide exclusive insight and access to the 2025 season.
Recently, 10 Tampa Bay Sports Director Evan Closky was provided with an advanced copy and proceeded to tweet out some expectations when it comes to what will be shown regarding Mayfield, his family, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As you can see below, Mayfield dealt with a multitude of tough injuries that played a big role in both his and the Buccaneers’ late season collapse:
- In terms of injury news, Baker Mayfield dealt with a sprained MCL and PCL for most of the season, starting in Houston Week 2.
- He also had a bone bruise in that Houston game which was aggravated against the Lions.
- On a scale of 1-10, the knee pain was a 7 around the Patriots contest after the bye week.
- There was also some sort of tendon injury in his bicep sustained in the Jets game. The bruising was gnarly. He wore an arm sleeve to cover it up.
- Later in the year he suffered an AC Joint injury against the Rams, which we knew.
Baker Mayfield’s injuries were known, but not to the extent shown on Netflix’s Quarterback
Plenty of people who keep up with the Buccaneers knew Mayfield was dealing with a bunch of injuries. He was on the injury report basically every single week and it was almost something new each time.
However, the full detail and context of the injuries were unknown. It’s pretty wild to see that Mayfield played through all of that, especially the MCL and PCL injuries. If you remember, Tom Brady played on a torn MCL throughout the entirety of the Buccaneers’ 2020 Super Bowl run. While it’s not as sever an injury, it’s still impressive Mayfield was able to bear through not one, but two different sprains at the same time.
Everyone knows Mayfield is a tough as they come, but this truly encapsulates what he’s able to get through. I’m sure it’s a safe bet both he and the Buccaneers are hoping 2026 can be a much cleaner and healthier season for the star signal-caller.
