Tennessee made the right decision to switch from Nike to Adidas, but head coach Josh Heupel took a tough loss in the changeover
The Tennessee Volunters recently made the switch from Nike to Adidas.
The Tennessee Vols officially switched from Nike to Adidas earlier this summer, and it was absolutely the right move for the program.
Tennessee’s new deal with Adidas is much more lucrative than the previous deal with Nike.
Adidas is also willing to provide more NIL support than Nike. It was a no-brainer for the Vols to make the switch.
The only downside to the switch is that Vols head coach Josh Heupel had to ditch the orange Nikes (usually Jordans or Dunks) that he would often be seen wearing on recruiting trips.
Instead, Heupel has to go with…whatever these are from Adidas.
I’m not a shoe snob by any means, but those kicks from Adidas leave a lot to be desired.
Hopefully Adidas has something a little better in the holster that they can supply Heupel with.
Or maybe he should just stick with the loafers a la Kirby Smart and Nick Saban.
Update:
After seeing a better view of the Adidas shoes that Heupel was wearing, I think I was a bit too harsh. I can rock with these.
