The Green Bay Packers play a game this week, finally. After months of waiting, Green Bay returns to the field on Thursday evening against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yes, the Packers will face Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers’ team at Acrisure Stadium. So, here’s how you can watch or follow the game, which starts at 6 p.m. (CT).
How to watch Packers at Steelers
The game will be nationally televised by NFL Network (and NFL+) as part of a tripleheader, right before Arizona Cardinals at Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers.
Local markets can also watch the game on the Packers TV Network. TODAY’S TMJ4 (WTMJ-TV) in Milwaukee and NBC 26 (WGBA-TV) in Green Bay broadcast it, as part of a list of local TV stations. The team’s official broadcast has Kevin Harlan as a play-by-play announcer and John Kuhn as the color analyst.

It’s the next big step for the Packers to build the 2026 version of their roster. Head coach Matt LaFleur hasn’t given any indications about whether the starters will play or not, but the other quarterbacks beyond Jordan Love (Tyrod Taylor, Kyle McCord, and Kyron Drones) should see extensive playing time regardless.
It’s also a great opportunity to watch the Packers’ 2026 draft class for the first time. Over the past few days, second-round cornerback Brandon Cisse and fifth-round offensive lineman Jager Burton have gotten more and more opportunities with the starters, while third-round defensive tackle Chris McClellan is a part of the rotation upfront. Sixth-round kicker Trey Smack will also have his first NFL game experience.
Preseason schedule
This is the first of two consecutive road preseason games for the Packers. After facing the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the Packers will play the Denver Broncos in Colorado on Aug. 21. Then, they host the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field on Aug. 28. There will also be a joint practice with the Cardinals leading up to the game in Green Bay.
