The Denver Broncos won’t need the hilarious bulletin board material they recently received, but Sean Payton will use it anyway.
The Denver Broncos don’t need the bulletin board material that was tossed their way last week.
But head coach Sean Payton has shown plenty of times that he has some pettiness in him, which is why I’m certain he’ll use it anyway.
I mean, just this past weekend in the Broncos’ preseason win against the Atlanta Falcons, for example:
Anyway, Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is set to have his jersey retired by the Arizona Cardinals on October 25.
The Cardinals just so happen to be playing the Broncos that day.
And Fitzgerald thinks the Cardinals are going to “beat down” the Broncos.
“I can’t wait to celebrate with you all in October and witness a Broncos
beatdown,” tweeted Fitzgerald last week.
Fitzgerald is one of the best dudes in the history of the NFL, so I’m not trying to throw shade here.
But Larry, really?
I’m not sure the Cardinals aren’t trying to tank for Arch Manning this fall. No one is expecting Arizona to compete in the NFC West, and I doubt many people will be betting the Cardinals moneyline on October 25.
Of course, you never know what can happen in the NFL on any given Sunday — we see plenty of bizarre results each season.
And we know Payton doesn’t take anything for granted, so I’m sure he’ll make sure his team is aware of Fitzgerald’s tweet when October 25 rolls around.
