Las Vegas Raiders star player made a subtle change at practice vs. the Houston Texans, and the fans didn’t let it go unnoticed
The Las Vegas Raiders had their first joint practice against the Houston Texans, and Brock Bowers did not have his knee taped up.
The Las Vegas Raiders saw something different from star player and tight end Brock Bowers. What was it, you may be asking? Nothing crazy, just the phenomenon currently spreading across Raider Nation.
Earlier this week, Bowers missed practice. It wasn’t anything crazy, but of course, fans overreacted and immediately thought he was injured. It didn’t help that he only played one snap against the Arizona Cardinals. The next day, after missing practice, he was there, but he wore a knee brace. Then, it was knee tape. So, of course, this had fans scared, and why wouldn’t they be?
This is the best tight end in the league, and a player who has the potential to be the most talented tight end ever. Of course, the first joint practice between the Texans and Raiders on Tuesday brought relief to fans. Bowers was noted to have zero tape or brace on his knee. He even had a good day with some big-time catches on that elite Texans’ secondary.
Brock Bowers continues to show out against the Houston Texans
If you needed any proof that Bowers was okay, then look no further than the first practice against the best defense in the NFL. Bowers showed out against the Texans, with some amazing catches deep down the field. He reminded everyone exactly who he was, several times.
“Well, I’m really impressed with him as a person,” Cousins said after practice. “Certainly, a great player, everybody knows that, but from a distance, you don’t get to know him as a person. And he’s always detailed on his routes, he just takes care of himself, he’s a pro, and he’s the kind of guy that you say, ‘Alright, if we do our part getting you the football, you stay healthy, the sky is the limit.’ We’ve just got to take it one day at a time and keep giving him those opportunities to help us.”
The Raiders have nothing to be worried about, for now anyway. But, it’s important to remember that this is the NFL, and injuries happen every day, so easily. But, this is a guy they need healthy.
