The NFL’s latest transaction is the ultimate vindication for the frustration Baltimore Ravens fans have felt for years
Baltimore Ravens fans HAVE to feel vindicated by the NFL’s latest transaction.
Few members of the Baltimore Ravens in recent years have drawn as much ire as former offensive guard Daniel Faalele.
The former Raven was a 34 game starter for the John Harbaugh led Ravens in 2024 and 2025. His play, however, left Ravens fans wanting plenty more despite his mammoth size and persistence in the starting lineup. When Harbaugh left this offseason, Faalele left with him — which was a cause for celebration for many Ravens fans. And the NFL’s latest transaction has to have those same fans feeling vindicated in their ire for his play. Faalele has been traded before ever playing a snap for his new team.
Former Baltimore Ravens OL Daniel Faalele doesn’t make it to Week 2 of the preseason with his new team
Faalele followed Harbaugh to the Giants this offseason, with a potential chance to earn yet another starting job for his coach in a new city. Fate dealt a different hand, though — as the New York Giants ultimately traded Dexter Lawrence for another top-10 draft choice and used that pick to bolster the offensive line. The Giants added University of Miami lineman Francis Mauigoa with that choice, locking Faalele out of the lineup.
And now, several months later, the Giants are bidding farewell to Faalele all together despite signing him in March.
It’s a good illustration of just how tough this business is at times. Faalele has gone from a 34-game starter to his third team in the calendar year. For Ravens fans? It’s affirmation. That all of those frustrating moments were justified. And it cuts especially deep to know that Harbaugh was the coach of the team that ultimately traded Faalele before his first official snap with New York. It’s all water under the bridge for the Ravens now, as their guard position now lies in the hands of a familiar face (John Simpson) and their own first round prize in Vega Ioane. Perhaps better days are ahead for everyone. But this serves as the final confirmation for what Ravens fans have felt for years.
