The Baltimore Ravens may have fallen into a roster upgrade by accident
This wasn’t the way the Baltimore Ravens planned it, but it may end up being the best possible outcome.
The Baltimore Ravens endured a tough twist when recently signed offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji was placed on the reserve/retired list. He’d just landed with the team days earlier.
But as is the case sometimes in life, you’ve got to take lemons and make lemonade. And that’s exactly what the Ravens have done with their pivot away from Adeniji. The new signing to replace the depth offensive lineman is, for my money, a better option.
The Baltimore Ravens are signing OT Kendall Lamm after Hakeem Adeniji’s retirement
Lamm’s been a well-tenured player around the NFL and has had some strong stints of play as he reaches the twilight of his career. He last played meaningful snaps for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, posting over 500 snaps on the season that year. The season before, Lamm played over 600 snaps for an 11-6 Dolphins team.
He’s not an ideal starter, not that he idealy will be for the Baltimore Ravens. But Lamm is a consummate pro who is meticulous in his preparation and often times was thrown into the fire one a moment’s notice mid-game in Miami.
The ability to jump into the action cold mid-series or mid-game and perform at a baseline level is exactly the kind of ability you’re looking for in a depth tackle. And, with all due respect to Adeniji, he simply has never shown that ability. So as the Ravens pivot from their initial choice, it’s worth pointing out they’ve probably got a better overall answer this time around.
