The long-awaited reveal has finally arrived. The Chicago Bears have released their Nike “Rivalries” edition uniforms Monday, unveiling the stylish jerseys they will wear in a massive Week 16 Christmas Day matchup against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
The Bears posted their official release video featuring the new threads, which are part of Nike’s “Rivalries” rollout across two NFL divisions this season. Chicago and Green Bay were natural selections for the program this year, given that their rivalry stands as the most iconic and oldest in NFL history. Debuting new uniforms this year adds another chapter to the rivalry books between these two franchises.
Week 16 already carries massive NFC North implications
Beyond the new jerseys, the on-field implications for this late-season clash could be enormous. Both teams enter 2026 with massive goals. The Bears want to defend their throne atop the NFC North, while the Packers are looking to steal it from their division rivals. A Week 16 game with potential playoff positioning on the line transforms this from a regular-season rivalry tilt into a statement game for both sides.
Chicago and Green Bay each harbor aspirations of becoming legitimate NFC contenders, and a late December meeting with division supremacy hanging in the balance only raises the stakes and now we know how the Bears are going to look on the field for this game, from a uniform standpoint.
Two potential returns add even intrigue to the Christmas Day matchup
What makes the Week 16 game even more compelling is the possibility of two significant defensive players making their presence felt.
On Green Bay’s side, edge rusher Micah Parsons is not expected to play in the Packers’ first matchup against the Bears earlier in the season. Parsons continues rehabbing from a torn ACL and is expected to miss the first chunk of the year. There has been plenty of back and forth between Parsons and Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, and the Christmas Day game could be the stage where that battle finally plays out on the field again.
For Chicago, the storyline is just as compelling. Safety Coby Bryant is out 4-to-6 months with a knee injury suffered during training camp, putting his return timeline somewhere close to December. Bears head coach Ben Johnson remained optimistic that the team will get Bryant back before the playoff push. Bryant was even featured in the uniform reveal video, which was recorded before his injury during media day.
The symmetry writes itself. The Packers will have their star defensive player back for that game, and the Bears could get their prized free-agent addition back in time for his official debut wearing the new uniforms at Soldier Field. Bryant could maybe return a week or two earlier to shake off the rust and get his feet under him before the marquee matchup, but a Christmas Day debut against Green Bay would be the best possible return from a fans’ perspective. Speaking of which, the fan reactions of the uniforms seem to be split.
Chicago Bears fans seem split on the new uniform design
When it was revealed that the Bears would be getting new uniforms for this game, everyone immediately started calling for the all-white “Polar Bear” uniforms to finally be announced, myself included.
Instead, the uniforms look similar to the current home uniforms with a Midnight navy base except the numbers are now orange with a vertical flag on the sleeves, which doesn’t look the best to be honest.
I am personally a fan of the orange pants, it’s something the Bears haven’t had in the regular season since the 1930’s and I think it pops with the orange helmets. Speaking of the helmets, I was hoping we’d get the new Bear logo on the helmet instead of the classic “C” for the first time. Maybe next time. Honestly, it looks exactly like Illinois’ home uniforms the more I look at it.
