The Kansas City Chiefs will play host to the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Friday, Aug. 28 at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff for the Week 3 2026 NFL preseason game is at 7:00 p.m. CT.

These two clubs last met in Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season. Kansas City defeated Seattle 24-10. The two teams meet again in late October during the 2026 regular season. Despite both teams being 0-2 during the preseason, expect some pretty vanilla game plans from Andy Reid and Mike Macdonald.

This game won’t be broadcast nationally to live audiences. It will be shown on replay on NFL Network at Midnight CT. Fans can stream it live with an NFL+ subscription. If you’re in either local broadcast market, you can watch the game live on television.

Kansas City Chiefs’ preseason Week 3 roster info

Chiefs HC Andy Reid confirmed eight players, including star QB Patrick Mahomes, were not expected to play in preseason Week 3. Players like L’Jarius Sneed, Rashee Rice, Kenneth Walker, Xavier Worthy, and Drue Tranquill are likely to miss the game as well. Nick Bolton, Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, and Travis Kelce are other players who could sit out. New trade acquisition Joshua Ezeudu didn’t arrive until Wednesday afternoon. You can assume he’ll sit, too.

Rookie QB Garrett Nussmeier is expected to start the game and could even play all four quarters of the game. That’s because Chris Oladokun is in the concussion protocol; otherwise, they’d be splitting the day.
