2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges, a Tennessee Vols commit, had a big showing in his Baylor School season debut last week, totaling 250 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Brentwood Academy.

Gabriel Georges had a much quieter showing in the second game of Baylor’s season.

But it’s not because he struggled, it’s simply because he didn’t receive nearly as many touches in Baylor’s 37-12 win over Loudoun Sports Academy.

Gabriel Georges rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on nine carries in the win.

The limited number of touches for Gabriel Georges is by design — Baylor head coach Erik Kimrey isn’t going to overuse the five-star recruit in games where it’s not needed.

“They’ll limit [his touches],” said VolQuest’s Brent Hubbs earlier this month on 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will. “Coach Kimrey does a really good job of managing reps. He had a bunch of yards last year, but he did not have a ton of carries. And when they get into games that they don’t need to use him a lot, they’ll be very cautious and very mindful of him.

“There will be a lot of games where you look up and he’s got eight carries in the game instead of 18 carries or 20 carries. But when it’s go time, it’s go time. And last night, it was obviously go time in the second half. And it’ll be go time against McCallie, and it’ll be go time during the playoffs.”

Gabriel Georges and Baylor will be back in action on September 4 when they travel to Georgia for a matchup against Rabun Gap High School.
