One thing that was speculated about Tennessee’s game against Georgia Tech turned out to be not true, much to the delight of Vols fans
The Tennessee Volunteers will play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Atlanta on Saturday night.
There was speculation for much of the offseason about Tennessee’s road matchup against Georgia Tech in Week 2 that turned out to not be accurate.
For much of the offseason, it was speculated that Georgia Tech was planning to wear all white uniforms for the game against the Volunteers.
That speculation increased earlier this week thanks to a graphic from Georgia Tech promoting the game against Tennessee that showed a Yellow Jackets player in a white uniform combination.
If Georgia Tech were to wear all white, it would mean that Tennessee would have to wear its orange home uniforms.
But that won’t be the case.
Tennessee confirmed on Thursday that the Vols will be going with their all white look against Georgia Tech this weekend in Atlanta.
I’m a traditionalist when it comes to uniforms (though I do like dark mode), but I think the all white is the cleanest look.
Many Vols fans agree (not all of them, but that’s okay, we all like what we like) and were disappointed at the idea of Tennessee not wearing all white on the road against Georgia Tech — especially since UT’s next road game isn’t for another month (October 10 at Arkansas).
Fortunately for those fans, the stormtrooper unis (the new Adidas version) will be on the field at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday night.
