ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Knoxville on Saturday for the big matchup between No. 14 Tennessee and No. 1 Texas.

This will be the first matchup between the Vols and the Longhorns since 1969.

College GameDay has been to Knoxville three previous times during the Josh Heupel era — 2022 for the Florida and Alabama games and in 2025 for the Georgia game.

A popular discussion ahead of any College GameDay visit to Knoxville is who the guest picker will be.

In 2022, WWE star Bianca Belair was the guest picker for the Florida game and Peyton Manning was the guest picker for the Alabama game.

Lady Vols legend Candace Parker was the guest picker for last year’s game against Georgia.

There are plenty of options to serve as this week’s guest picker, and one name that’s been thrown around a lot is Peyton.

But that seems very, very unlikely to happen.

This is already a tough week for Peyton since his nephew, Arch, will be playing against his alma mater. I’d expect Peyton to try to keep a low profile this week.

I also don’t think Peyton wants to answer any more questions about who he’ll be rooting for on Saturday (Peyton has already said he’s pulling for Arch to play well).

Additionally, I think Peyton will want to spend as much time with family as possible before and after the game. He doesn’t need an ESPN obligation getting in the way of that.

There are plenty of great options — it wouldn’t surprise me at all if country music star Morgan Wallen is the pick — but it almost certainly won’t be Peyton Manning.
