3 trades the Las Vegas Raiders could make before the trade deadline to massively improve their wide receiver room for cheap
The Las Vegas Raiders desperately need help at wide receiver, and A to Z Sports’ newest trade simulator has some great suggestions.
The Las Vegas Raiders have a clear roster problem. But this team is obviously closer to being a good football team than maybe we all thought. So, before the trade deadline arrives, could we see the silver and black become buyers for once?
They desperately need help at wide receiver. That means before the trade deadline, we could see this team busy on the phone, calling other teams for players. They need a guy who can be a WR1 this year, and maybe even a high-end WR2 in the future. I have three guys in mind based on what the Raiders need and what they’re willing to give up in trades.
A to Z Sports now has its own trade simulator, and we used it to identify three potential trades the Raiders could make to acquire a wide receiver.
3 potential wide receivers for the Raiders to trade for
Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
Our new simulator at A to Z Sports rates this as a fair trade: Vegas gets Thomas Jr., and the Raiders send a 2027 third (projected pick No. 77) and a 2027 sixth (projected pick No. 192). That would be a fantastic trade for both sides.
We know there were rumors last season that the Jaguars were trying to trade Thomas Jr., and, of course, that carried into the offseason. Now we haven’t heard much about Thomas being on the block since, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be willing to trade him.

I know some fans will look at his numbers from last year and this year and say no to a third-round pick. But I definitely think he’s worth it. In his rookie season, he put up 1,200 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Last year, he finished with just 700 receiving yards and one touchdown in 14 games. He also had a drop issue, finishing with six drops, per Sports Info Solutions. That was 19th in the league last year. He has two drops this year.
But a drop issue is something you can get over. Not to mention, every site charts these differently. For example, Thomas has been targeted 17 times this year, and only 14 were catchable. If two were drops, then three were well-defended passes. He can get back to that rookie-season form. Who knows, a change of scenery could do that.
Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns
The Browns are desperately trying to get rid of Jeudy. And while he may not be the WR1 many expected, he could be a good WR2. Or even a good WR3. The Raiders drafted two guys last year, and we still don’t know what they’ll be. It’s safe to say they’ll definitely draft a wide receiver in the 2027 NFL Draft. So why not add a guy who could build on your WR room’s core for the future? And he would be fairly cheap.
Jeudy had 1,200 receiving yards in 2024. He had 600 last year and only 81 so far. But in 2026, he’s played only 58% of all offensive snaps. He’s still a really good route runner, but he does drop some passes. He led the league in drops last year with 10. So, there is that. But Kirk Cousins throws one of the most catchable balls in the league. And Jeudy played on a very bad Browns team last season.
The Raiders need someone who can get open and create separation. They also need someone who can stretch the field. Jeudy can do that. And hey, if the drops issue steers you away, know that Ashton Jeanty currently leads the league in drops. This would be Jeudy for a fourth-round pick (projected pick No. 114 overall).

Adonai Mitchell, New York Jets
In this trade, the Raiders would send a 2027 fifth-round pick (projected pick No. 151 overall) to get Mitchell. This is the same receiver the Jets traded for in the package that sent Sauce Gardner to the Colts. So, they once thought highly of him. He still has a ton of potential and can be a good wide receiver. Let’s not forget, he’s playing on the Jets, a bad football team. He’s basically always been on bad teams with poor passing games. So, his numbers aren’t great.
Mitchell has nine catches for 123 yards in 2026. He’s got an elite ability to make contested catches, and his explosiveness and acceleration in and out of breaks are very good. Mitchell could be the WR2 the Raiders need, if and when they draft their WR1 next year.
Now, some of these trades may be a bit underwhelming. But there’s not really a ton out there. There aren’t many that move the needle. And who’s to say the Raiders do anything at all? Maybe they won’t make a single trade before the deadline. But these three guys would definitely improve the wide receiver room. Whether they should do it is a different story. That’s a decision for John Spytek to make.
