After winning their first four games, the Florida Gators have gotten blown out their last two games 83-36. It wasn’t that they lost that was the problem; being embarrassed twice, including on homecoming, was a terrible turn for Jon Sumrall.

Now, the Gators have the Texas Longhorns on Saturday afternoon, and it’s become a must-win game. They will have a bye week next week before facing the Georgia Bulldogs, and it’s a very real possibility that the Gators are 4-4 going into the month of November.

Florida Gators’ offense in dire straits after injury report

The first injury report for the Gators is out, and it’s not looking good for the offense. We had already learned that quarterback Aaron Philo was limited in practice. He’s not the only key memeber of the offense on the injury report.

If the Gators don’t have Philo, Tramell Jones Jr. will get the opportunity to start, and he looked good during the competition. Plus, with the offensive line in the situation it’s in right now, having a more mobile quarterback could be a smart play.

The other two questionable players were in the same spot at this time last week in wide receivers Vernell Brown III and Bailey Stockton. Luckily, Brown seems to be looking good in practice this week, and having him back would be huge. The offense has lacked explosiveness without him on the field.

Of all the players on the list, the biggest is running back Duke Clark. He’s currently listed as out, which is brutal. He’s the perfect complement to running back Jadan Baugh, giving the Gators that burst in the running game that they have been able to maximize. Not having him could be a big deal come Saturday.

The next three days will really tell us how things will be for Buster Faulkner’s offense.
