Georgia Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers final score predictions: Can Alex Golesh get his first upset-rivalry win over the No. 1 team in the country?
The Georgia Bulldogs are in a terrific spot, but they’ll face one of their biggest rivals, the Auburn Tigers.
The Georgia Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the country. Auburn is a team that’s trying to turn their program around. And, Alex Golesh is looking for that first unranked-upset win over a rival. Can he get it done on Saturday? A to Z Sports’ experts picked the final scores for this game.
Final score predictions for Georgia vs. Auburn
Rob Gregson, A to Z Alabama: Georgia 30 Auburn 10
After watching the Georgia Bulldogs run all over the SEC’s top-ranked rushing defense in Tuscaloosa, Auburn may be in trouble. Truthfully, Georgia is the best team in the country, and Auburn is rebuilding under first-year head coach Alex Golesh. I don’t think this team has the explosiveness to score on Georgia, and they certainly don’t have the physicality to win the trench battle on either side. Gunner Srockton has also elevated his game this season, making multiple high-leverage throws against Alabama in an extremely tough environment. The Dawgs will roll in this one.
Tyler Forness, A to Z Florida: Georgia 45, Auburn 17
I don’t see this as much of a game. The Bulldogs are coming off a big win over the Alabama Crimson Tide and showed they can hang with the best in the business. This Auburn Tigers team is in good hands with Alex Golesh, but they aren’t there yet. Byrum Brown won’t be able to generate much against another great Bulldogs defense. This one will likely be over at halftime.
Ryan Roberts, A to Z Notre Dame: Georgia 38, Auburn 14
Georgia looks like the most complete team in the country right now, and I don’t see Auburn keeping up for long in this matchup. The Bulldogs have the talent, physicality, and balance to control both sides of the ball, and I expect them to establish dominance early. Gunner Stockton is poised for a big game, taking advantage of Auburn’s defense and helping Georgia put points on the board consistently. Once the Bulldogs find their offensive rhythm, the Tigers could struggle to keep this one competitive.
The Georgia defense could be just as impressive. Auburn will likely have a few moments, but I don’t expect the Tigers to sustain enough offense to seriously threaten the Bulldogs. Georgia can generate pressure, force mistakes, and turn defensive stops into scoring opportunities, letting the lead grow as the game progresses. This matchup highlights just how dangerous Georgia can be when all three phases click. The Bulldogs pull away comfortably and send another message to the country.
Craig Smith, A to Z Tennessee: Georgia 44, Auburn 20
Boy, we’ve kind of forgotten about Gunner Stockton in the big picture, haven’t we? The Dawgs’ starting quarterback has gotten lost in the shuffle this year, with strong quarterback play from Darian Mensah, Keelon Russell, Kamario Taylor, Josh Hoover, and others. But make no mistake, he executes his team’s offense as well as any signal caller in the country, as we saw in Georgia’s 20-17 win over Alabama last weekend.
More of the same will come on Saturday against an Auburn team that will fight for a half and then find itself out of this by the third quarter. Stockton will continue to impress, running when he needs to and spreading the ball around at a high percentage (18/22 passing last week, with completions by 10 different pass catchers). Georgia might be banged up at RB, but Dwight Phillips Jr.’s 120 yards last week against Bama proved they’re basically plug-and-play in the backfield.
Justin Churchill, A to Z Oklahoma: Georgia 30, Auburn 10
The Georgia Bulldogs have now proven they are the No. 1 team in the country. Their win over Alabama is about as good as it gets for any team this season, other than maybe Texas beating Ohio State. But, they have to show they can be consistent. And, there are definitely still things to work on.
As for Auburn, this offense has not been as fun to watch as we all maybe thought it would in the offseason. But Georgia has the mix of defense and offense that Auburn just simply won’t be able to hang around with. Then again, this is a rivalry game, and we’ve seen some weird things happen in rivalry games this year alone.
