Legend Bey took to social media to troll Indiana fans following Ohio State’s road win over the Hoosiers
The Ohio State Buckeyes escaped Bloomington with a top-5 road win over Indiana, and true freshman running back Legend Bey made sure to troll Hoosiers fans on the way out.
The Ohio State Buckeyes went on the road in Week 7 of the college football season and got the job done. Ohio State knocked off the Indiana Hoosiers 19-15 in a top-5 matchup to move to 6-1, and it did so without a fully healthy roster.
The running back room was a big part of that story. With Ja’Kobi Jackson out, Ohio State had to lean a bit more on true freshman running back Legend Bey. Isaiah West served as the backup to Bo Jackson, and Bey was the No. 3 running back for the Buckeyes on the day.
Bey only finished with three carries for six yards. Still, Ohio State trusting him on the road in a top-5 game said a lot about the freshman, even if it was a move the Buckeyes kind of had to make.
Legend Bey trolls Indiana fans after Ohio State’s road win
Following the game, what Bey did off the field is going to catch far more attention than anything he did on it. Bey took to his Instagram story in a now-deleted story post to troll Indiana fans who were seen flipping the middle finger at the Ohio State team bus as it left Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana.
Bey’s caption said, “I’d be sick,” with a laughing cat emoji.
It’s just a good troll job by Bey. It also points to a bigger truth about the afternoon in Bloomington. Ohio State didn’t play its best football, and it still found a way to leave with the win.
Ohio State wasn’t sharp, but the Buckeyes found a way against Indiana
The numbers back that up. Indiana outgained Ohio State 369 to 313 in total yards. The Buckeyes also threw two interceptions to help the Hoosiers out, though they did recover two fumbles to even out the turnover battle.
Ohio State didn’t run the ball well, and the defense got carved up through the air at times. However, the Buckeyes held Indiana to just 15 points when it mattered and walked out with a huge Big Ten win.
The win also snapped a 22-game win streak for Indiana. Ohio State is now 2-1 against the Hoosiers over the last three years, and this one came at the right time with the Buckeyes heading into their bye week.
The off week gives Ohio State a chance to get healthier, especially in a running back room that was stretched thin in Bloomington. Getting Ja’Kobi Jackson back would take some pressure off the depth chart, though Bey showed the staff is willing to put him on the field in a big spot.
Bey’s post could add fuel to a potential rematch
This might not be the last time Ohio State and Indiana meet this season. Both programs are in the thick of the Big Ten race, and a second matchup down the road is a real possibility.
If that happens, Bey’s could be one folks come back to. Indiana fans aren’t likely to forget the Ohio State freshman running back poking fun at them on the way out after a win, and the Hoosiers could use it as motivation.
For now, Ohio State gets to enjoy a road win over a top-5 opponent heading into the break. A lot of the focus will continue to be around the injury situation with quarterback Julian Sayin.
