Los Angeles Rams are staring down infamy without change that comes in a hurry

The Los Angeles Rams entered 2026 with Super Bowl expectations. A home loss to Arizona and a mounting injury list have changed that conversation in a hurry.

Are the Los Angeles Rams bad right now? Unfortunately, the answer is yes. And that puts the Rams on the clock. Not for the NFL Draft, but for infamy. A home loss to the Arizona Cardinals dropped Los Angeles to 2-4. The Cardinals now have as many wins in SoFi Stadium this season as the Rams have in 2026 period. That’s a tough pill to swallow.

And the medicine will only taste worse from here unless some major changes happen fast. Because infamy is now calling the 2026 Los Angeles Rams.

The Los Angeles Rams could supplant the ‘Dream Team’ Eagles without some fast changes

The trouble doesn’t stop at the standings, either. The Rams are now teetering on the brink of completely falling apart at the seams. Wide receiver Davante Adams is injured and expected to miss around two months of action. Defensive tackle Poona Ford is out for the year. Fellow defensive tackle Kobie Turner is headed to injured reserve. When it rains, it pours.

It’s raining buckets on the Rams right now. And the 2026 Rams need a quick fix, or else go down as one of the biggest busts of recent memory. That title, right now, belongs to the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles. The self-proclaimed ‘Dream Team’.

Those Eagles finished the 2011 8-8 after backup quarterback Vince Young dubbed the team a ‘Dream Team’ — with Philadelphia boasting +600 odds to win the Super Bowl at one point in the offseason. But even that .500 finish is a little misleading. Philadelphia needed a 4-game winning streak at the end of the year just to climb back to an even record. They also started 2-4…just like the 2026 Rams.

Los Angeles checked in this summer with +500 to +550 Super Bowl odds, making them an even heavier favorite than the 2011 Eagles. So the pressure is on. The injury report isn’t doing Los Angeles any favors, either. Losing Adams strips away a key piece of the passing game. Losing Ford and Turner in the same stretch takes two important bodies away from the defensive front. That’s a lot of talent to replace for a team that can’t afford many more losses.

The Rams have time to fix this. Six games is not a full season. But they’re on the clock. Avoid falling into the same trap the Eagles did 15 years ago, or risk taking their place as the most disappointing team of the millennium.
