The Kansas City Chiefs have announced their inactive players ahead of their Week 7 tilt with the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on “Sunday Night Football.”

The Chiefs’ inactive list looks only slightly different from their Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Rashee Rice remains out with a hamstring injury. Josh Simmons is now on injured reserve, so he doesn’t appear on the inactive players list. There are two new names on the list for Kansas City. One is RT Jaylon Moore, who remains out due to a concussion suffered in Week 6. The other is FB Ben VanSumeren. With TE Travis Kelce dealing with an ankle injury heading into the game, the Chiefs will have TE Jared Wiley active. They have only six players inactive on Sunday night because they elevated just one player, Justin Watson, from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Here’s a closer look at the inactive players for Kansas City and Seattle.

Kansas City Chiefs’ inactive players

  • QB Garrett Nussmeier (Emergency 3rd QB)
  • FB Ben VanSumeren
  • DB Jadon Canady
  • DE Jack Pyburn
  • WR Rashee Rice
  • OT Jaylon Moore

Seattle Seahawks’ inactive players

  • RB Zach Charbonnet
  • LB Drake Thomas
  • LB Chazz Surratt
  • QB Drew Lock (Emergency 3rd QB)
  • RB Robert Henry Jr.
  • LB Connor O’Toole
  • OG Beau Stephens

Chiefs’ Diego Pounds active for the first time in Week 7 vs. the Seahawks

With Jaylon Moore ruled out for Week 7 with a concussion and Josh Simmons on injured reserve, Diego Pounds is active for the first time in his Kansas City career. The Chiefs acquired Pounds from the Baltimore Ravens during 53-man roster cuts for a conditional Day 3 pick. The undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss allowed no pressures on 26 pass-blocking snaps during the preseason. He played the left tackle position during the preseason and has over 2,500 snaps at left tackle in college.

Pounds will back up LT Kahlil Benson and RT Joshua Ezeudu against the Seahawks. K.C. likely hopes they won’t see much of Pounds this week. They’re already down to their second options at left and right tackle spots. Any more attrition would put this team in terrifyingly familiar territory. That’s a scary thought even if they’re much better prepared to handle the type of injuries the team dealt with on the offensive line in 2025.
