We graded every Lions player from the Packers win; Jameson Williams was perfect, but one defender hit a brutal low

Williams became just the third Lion to earn a perfect 50 in our grading system, while Aidan Hutchinson led the defense and one starter posted the lowest score we’ve handed out yet.

The Detroit Lions came out of their first divisional game with a win on Sunday. Now it’s time to jump into our weekly M.O.ON. grades. Remember, that stands for measure of on-field net impact.

These grades are all about impact, whether it’s positive or negative. Each player starts at 25 points except Jared Goff. He starts at 20. The goal is to get a 50 grade, and so far, only two players have done it. Until Sunday, when a third joined the 50 club. Here’s this week’s grade:

Jameson Williams joins the 50 club. He had three explosives and two touchdowns and had no setbacks in this game that caused him to lose points. No drops or penalties. He’s really come on in the last few weeks, and if Williams keeps playing at this level, this offense can really shine.

It’s a bit surprising that Amon-Ra St. Brown didn’t hit 50. He had a crazy good game with nine receptions for 153 yards. But because he had a play that went for a loss, he lost one point. Still, he scored a 50 in all of Lions fans’ hearts.

Jared Goff got his worst grade of the season with a 24. The deciding factors here are that he fumbled twice. Even though only one of them was recovered by the Packers. The first one was still a loss. He always had two turnover-worthy plays that probably should have been interceptions.

Aidan Hutchinson was this week’s highest-graded defender with a 47.5 grade. He had eight pressures and a sack, as well as 1.5 tackles. He played pretty well.

In his first game back in almost a year, Brian Branch got a 35.5 grade. The big point-getter for him was the interception. He didn’t do anything on the negative side that caused him to lose points, but he also didn’t do anything that would have earned him more points towards the 50. He earned 10.5 points.

Derrick Barnes got the lowest M.O.O.N. grade we’ve ever handed out, with a seven out of 50. He allowed eight completions, one explosive play, one missed tackle, one penalty, and allowed one touchdown. A rough outing for the linebacker.
