Bengals go light at wide receiver and dress former first-round pick vs. Titans
The Cincinnati Bengals are only dressing four wide receivers in their Week 8 game against the Tennessee Titans, but defensive end Shemar Stewart is going to play.
The Cincinnati Bengals are getting set to play their Week 8 game against the Tennessee Titans.
Before kickoff, both teams have released their inactive players list for the game.
Here are the Bengals players who will not be dressing for today’s game against the Titans.
Bengals Week 8 inactives vs. Titans
- S Kyle Dugger
- OT Myles Hinton
- C Connor Lew
- DT Landon Robinson
- WR Mitch Tinsley
Hinton, Lew, and Robinson are usual suspects on the inactives list. Dugger was declared out Friday. He did not practice all week after aggravating his quad injury that took him out of the previous two games. Russ Yeast is active in his place as a backup safety.
Linebacker Joe Giles-Harris was questionable with a calf injury, but he will play. This was foreshadowed by the club not elevating another LB off the practice squad this weekend.
Tinsley is a surprising healthy scratch. He’s been the main backup wide receiver since coming back to the team in Week 4. Him being inactive means rookie Colbie Young is the only reserve eligible to play behind the starting trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Dohnte Meyers.
Shemar Stewart to play
Stewart, last year’s first-round pick who’s played just 17 snaps this season, is active. He was a healthy scratch last week. The Bengals will have 10 defensive linemen dressed, indicating they expect a run-heavy attack from the Titans.
Stewart is still expected to be the fifth EDGE in Cincy’s rotation at the position. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler tabbed him as a player teams are monitoring ahead of the upcoming trade deadline, so it will be interesting to see how much he plays, particularly late in the game.
