A former Tennessee Vols wide receiver was included on the midseason watch list this week for college football’s Comeback Player of the Year award.

The Associated Press and the Fiesta Sports Foundation unveiled their midseason watch list for the Comeback Player of the Year award, and former Vols wide receiver Chas Nimrod was among the players included.

Nimrod spent the first three seasons of his career at Tennessee before transferring to USF ahead of the 2025 season (where he was reunited with former Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh). He followed Golesh to Auburn this past offseason.

The Arkansas native was having a terrific year at USF in 2025 before suffering a leg injury that sidelined him for over half the season.

Nimrod has rebounded this season to put up some solid numbers at Auburn (37 receptions for 402 yards and four touchdowns).

Nimrod’s best game of the season came in Auburn’s loss to Florida when he caught six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown.

The former Vol caught three passes for 33 yards in his return to Neyland Stadium earlier this season.
