Tennessee and Kentucky will meet this weekend in what might be the biggest game ever in this rivalry.

The Vols are ranked No. 13 in the College Football Playoff rankings. They need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Kentucky is No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Wildcats could earn a trip to the SEC Championship game and a first-round bye in the playoff if they win out.

Tom Hart will handle play-by-play duties for ESPN for Kentucky vs Tennessee

Tom Hart and Roddy Jones will be on the call for the ESPN broadcast of the game.

On Thursday, Hart joined 104.5 The Zone’s 3HL and he shared some thoughts on how the game could play out.

Hart thinks Kentucky will walk into Neyland Stadium with confidence and be unbothered by the magnitude of the game.

“Kentucky is plus 13 in turnover margin,” said Hart. “Tennessee thrives on that (generating turnovers). Jim Knowles thrives on getting pressure. And golly, I don’t know. I mean, I’m just kind of running through the game in my mind — I have been all week — and I just don’t think, even though he doesn’t have a huge track record, that a Will Stein team is going to be bothered. I really don’t.

“That’s not to say that Tennessee shouldn’t be favored or that Tennessee won’t win. I think this Kentucky team and the confidence it plays with and the swagger that it has, I think they’re the type of team that they like going into situations like this. I think they can feed off of it, and I don’t think that will be an issue. Now, Tennessee’s pass rush could absolutely be an issue. (Vols running back) DeSean Bishop could absolutely be an issue. There are other issues that I think give Tennessee a big advantage.”

It sounds like Hart is expecting a close and competitive game that comes down to the last few plays. I think that’s what most folks are expecting in this game.

We’ll see at 6:15 PM ET on Saturday how it plays out.
