Chicago Bears fans have changed their tune about the team’s future as quarterback Justin Fields continues to shine in his second season in the NFL.

Not all quarterbacks develop at the same pace, but Fields’ growth was stunted with the Bears’ completely changing regimes after his rookie season. Playing for his second head coach and in his second system in as many years, Fields has hit his stride.

Fields will continue to be compared to some of the greatest mobile quarterbacks in the game. However, through his first 19 starts, the Bears’ signal caller has a strikingly similar resumé to that of Josh Allen’s first 19 games with the Buffalo Bills.

Like Fields, Allen got off to a rocky start in his rookie season. Now the NFL’s MVP frontrunner, Allen tossed just 10 touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions in his rookie campaign.

Allen didn’t enter the league as this impeccable passer many now know him to be. He had a big arm, but dealt with turnover troubles early on. Well, Fields isn’t a finished product as a passer either.

Fields has turned the corner in his development and is transforming one of the most bland offenses in football over the last three decades into a high-scoring unit fans can be proud of.
