The big storyline before the Cincinnati Bengals' matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game was the trash talk that was exchanged between the two teams all week leading up to Sunday.

From "Burrowhead" to "they gotta play us" there was no shortage of shade thrown between the two franchises.

After the Bengals' 23-20 loss to the Chiefs, Cincy quarterback Joe Burrow met with reporters and he was asked about all the trash talk.

Burrow explained he thinks the trash talk is part of what makes the game fun.

"I just think that's what makes football fun," said Burrow after the loss. "It's all love at the end of the day. They know the respect that we have for them. I know the respect that they have for us. It's an intense, emotional game. Things like that are going to happen, but I think that's why the game is fun."

Burrow is pretty much spot-on with those comments. While I thought the Bengals could've dialed back some of the trash talk all week, Burrow is right that it makes the game fun.

Unfortunately, the trash talk from the Bengals was on center stage and it served as extra motivation for the Chiefs this past week.

Cincinnati will learn from this game and they'll be better moving forward.

The trash talk, however, probably isn't going anywhere. This is an intense group of competitors and they won't be changing who they are because of one three-point loss.
