The Cincinnati Bengals have several big decisions to make this offseason.

A couple of those decisions will be easy.

Working out a contract extension with quarterback Joe Burrow is a top priority.

And saying goodbye to safety Jessie Bates is all but a done deal.

Other decisions, however, won't be quite as easy.

Should the Bengals explore an extension with wide receiver Tee Higgins?

What about re-signing safety Vonn Bell?

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler gave the latest on each of those scenarios on Sunday.

According to Fowler, the Bengals' top offseason priority, unsurprisingly, is extending Burrow.

Fowler also pointed out that Cincinnati will at least explore an extension with Higgins this offseason. Higgins will be a free agent after the 2023 season. Extending him, however, could be tough.

The former Clemson standout is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons while playing alongside Ja'Marr Chase.

If Higgins wants to be paid like a No. 1 wide receiver, it would be hard to blame him. And considering the shortage of top wide receivers that make it to free agency, Higgins could probably land an extremely lucrative contract with another team next offseason. The Bengals will likely have to give him a mega-extension to keep him in Cincy longterm. I'm sure there will be discussions, but a franchise tag next offseason seems like a very real possibility.

Fowler also noted on Sunday that Cincinnati hasn't made a decision yet on running back Joe Mixon.

Mixon has a $12.7 million cap hit in 2023. The Bengals could save $7.2 million in cap space by releasing him.

As for the safety position, Fowler reported that Cincinnati is not expected to franchise tag Bates. The Bengals, according to Fowler, will be "following his market" (if Bates doesn't find someone willing to pay him like a top NFL safety, then maybe a reunion with Cincy will be possible).

Re-signing Vonn Bell is a more likely scenario for the Bengals according to Fowler.

There will be a lot of moving parts for Cincinnati this offseason, but it sounds like they'll be able to keep most of their core group of players (minus Bates) together.

Which means fans should be gearing up for another deep playoff run.
