Predicting the next five Notre Dame commitments following the Fighting Irish kicking off its 2028 class with Owen Davies
Who are the next five commitments for Notre Dame after landing 2028 kicker Owen Davies? There should be some good news on the horizon.
Notre Dame football kicked off its 2028 recruiting class on Wednesday when it received a commitment from Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy kicker Owen Davies. For the second straight season, head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish got the party started with a specialist, and Davies is considered to be the No. 2 kicker in the class, according to Kohl’s Kicking.
With Davies now on board, let’s look forward to who could be the next five commitments for Notre Dame. The bulk of this conversation will shift back to the 2027 class, especially with official visits kicking off. This has a chance to be an elite class for the Fighting Irish.
Here are my next five potential commitments to keep a close eye on, not necessarily listed in order.
WR Julius Jones Jr. – Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas
As a legacy recruit for Notre Dame, Jones is a very important 2027 target overall. Beyond his familiar name, Jones also possesses tremendous upside as a wide receiver, including home-run speed and the ability to make big plays after the catch. Notre Dame continues to battle Oregon for the talented pass catcher, but they are very much the leader right now, and I would be shocked if he wasn’t the pick later this month.
EDGE Abraham Sesay – Exton (Pa.) Downingtown East
At 6-5 and 225 pounds, Sesay is a dynamic pass rusher with all the upside in the world. Rated among the top 100 players by multiple recruiting platforms, Sesay would be a tremendous addition to the 2027 Notre Dame class. They are currently battling LSU and Florida State for the talented defensive end, so this one isn’t over quite yet. I do, however, like where the Irish stand and think they win out in the end.
DT Brayden Parks – Chicago (Ill.) Brother Rice
The recruitment for Parks has been a wild ride so far. Oregon has made things difficult multiple times, but the latest feedback is strong in favor of the Fighting Irish, although there is still confidence on the Oregon side. Notre Dame will have to finish strong, but they clearly value the 6-3, 305-pound defensive tackle at a high level. Freeman and Co. are hard to win against down the stretch. I am not betting against when Parks gets back on campus for his official visit this weekend.
LB Roman Igwebuike – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel
Notre Dame didn’t have much momentum early, but that has changed under linebacker coach Brian Jean-Mary. They are going to have to beat out Clemson and Indiana, but I believe they can with a big official visit this weekend. The 6-3, 220-pound defender brings some insane versatility to play in the middle of a defense, while also rushing off the edge.
TE Jack McNamara (2028) – Chicago (Ill.) Brother Rice
While Notre Dame has had some mixed results in Chicago recently, McNamara has quickly become a player that they want in the 2028 class. At 6-5 and 235 pounds, he is a really talented athlete at the tight end position with all the upside in the world. There hasn’t been a firm timeline given from McNamara yet, but with the 2027 recruiting class slowly winding down, don’t be surprised if the Irish staff makes a strong push for several members of the 2028 class.
