Ohio State football predicted to land elite recruit and brother of former Buckeyes star, and it would be a major statement in Columbus
The Ohio State Buckeyes are on track to land the brother of Marvin Harrison Jr. with a new prediction in for the elite five-star recruit to choose to play in Columbus.
I’ve always believed that the Ohio State Buckeyes would be just fine with wide receiver recruiting without Brian Hartline in Columbus.
There may be short-term players the Buckeyes miss out on, but I believe Ohio State will continue to pump out elite NFL talent at the wide receiver position. Ohio State has Jamier Brown coming in the 2027 class, and they’re on track to land a superb and well-known talent in 2028.
Brother of Marvin Harrison Jr. is predicted to choose Ohio State
Ohio State is heavily recruiting 2028 WR St. Joseph’s Prep (PA) Jett Harrison, the brother of former Buckeye Marvin Harrison Jr., and Pro Football Hall of Fame WR Marvin Harrison Sr. The Buckeyes have been predicted by Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong to land the elite talent.
Harrison is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound wide receiver who is quite the talent already and the No. 4 player in the class of 2028, per 247 Sports Composite. Harrison has spent plenty of time around the Buckeyes football program from his brother’s time to now as a recruit. It has Ohio State in prime position to land the younger Harrison, who Oregon, Miami, Alabama, Texas A&M, and several other major college football programs are also pursuing.
“I think I’m better than him at this age,” Harrison said of his older brother via Rivals. “I’m more developed. He had his strengths, I have mine, and we are similar, but different, but at this age, going into my junior year, I would say I am ahead.”
Harrison Jr.’s career at Ohio State was a special one where he ended it as a Heisman finalist and No. 4 overall draft pick to the Arizona Cardinals. Just because the older brother went to Ohio State, that won’t be the reason the Buckeyes get the younger one, if he does choose to play in Columbus.
“My brother told me not to go to Ohio State just because he went there,” Harrison said via Rivals. “Be yourself and go where you can see yourself. If I go to Ohio State, it won’t be because of him. This decision will be about what I feel is best for me.”
Continue the elite recruiting at the wideout position is crucial for Ohio State’s success and it looks like Cortez Hankton is going to be able to do it. Getting Harrison in 2028 for Ohio State is crucial. If he can be anything close to the player his brother was for the Buckeyes, he’ll be a fan favorite.
