National insiders are favoring one team heavily to land Ohio State football target RB David Gabriel Georges
Ohio State football will soon get an answer from top target RB David Gabriel Georges on where he’s going. National insiders are heavily leaning one way.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have had a nice last few weeks on the recruiting trail, but their biggest potential get is still out there as we close in on a decision date.
2027 five-star RB David Gabriel Georges is going to decide on July 22 between the Buckeyes, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. Ohio State and Tennessee are viewed as the top two teams in the recruitment.
Ohio State is carrying the momentum to land David Gabriel Georges a couple of weeks out
The majority of the expert predictions in the recruiting space lean toward Ohio State landing the nation’s No. 2 running back. Some folks believe Tennessee will eventually land DGG, but it’s Ohio State with more noise around his name right now.
On3 polled nine of its insiders on where Gabriel Georges would land and six of them have Ohio State being the school to land the commitment. Steve Wiltfong, Sam Spiegelman, Brandon Huffman, Greg Smith, and Adam Gorney are all leaning toward the Buckeyes.
Gabriel Georges is the No. 10 overall and No. 2 running back prospect in the country, per 247 Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot, 215-pound running back brings a Quinshon Judkins-like running style and would be a Year 1 contributor.
Ohio State is looking to lock in a top-5 recruiting class once again
Gabriel Georges is the top remaining target on Ohio State’s board with 18 verbal commitments locked in. Ohio State recently added five-star DL Marcus Fakatou, and they hope to land four-star DL Karlos May on July 18. Adding Gabriel Georges would add to what should end in a top-5 class.
Ohio State has recruited DGG for a couple of years now and no coach has a better relationship with him than running backs coach Carlos Locklyn. Tennessee isn’t going to go away and they’re going to end with the top bid, which is expected to be over $1 million for his freshman season, the most ever for an incoming running back. The key is for the Buckeyes to come close to that number, and win out elsewhere in the recruitment.
