The transfer portal was nice to Ohio State over the offseason and their additions are going to play a very big role in any success they see in 2024.
Running back Quinshon Judkins was one of the big additions and he fits in right next to TreVeyon Henderson. Judkins came over from Ole Miss despite having two very good seasons for the Rebels. In that time, Judkins had 2,725 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns with Ole Miss.
Now having played his first game in Columbus, Judkins is already noticing the big difference between Ole Miss to Ohio State.
“Over 100,000 (fans),” Judkins regarding the attendance for Saturday’s game against Akron. “Being at Ole Miss, I only got to see that at away games.”
Ohio Stadium holds just under 103,000 people with its current setup. The Buckeyes normally have the stadium packed for most home games and it is surely packed for every night game. At Ole Miss, Vaught Hemingway Stadium holds just over 64,000 people, so the big difference is easy to see.
Coming from the SEC, Judkins has played in his fair share of big crowds. When the Buckeyes play at Penn State this season, it will surely be the biggest crowd that Judkins has ever played in front of.
In his debut with the Buckeyes, Judkins carried the ball 13 times for 55 yards and a touchdown. It was an acceptable debut against a team like Akron and the Buckeyes should be happy with what they saw for the most part. A one-two tandem between Judkins and Henderson is as dangerous as it gets.
“A one-of-a-kind experience. Definitely a one-of-a-kind experience,” Judkins said about playing in front of the OSU fans. “Super excited. Definitely more fans than I expected, so it’s super fun.”
Judkins will get his first taste of football in The Shoe at night in Week 2 when the Buckeyes welcome in Western Michigan for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
