The Texas A&M Aggies survived a brutal rivalry game against the Arkansas Razorbacks 45-42 in what was undoubtedly their most stressful game of their undefeated 2025 campaign. No matter how many times the Aggies punched, Arkansas punched right back, and it came down to an onside kick that ultimately allowed the Aggies to survive.

It was a day to forget for a normally dominant A&M defense, who has shut down opposing offenses with routine ease all year. The Razorbacks had their number, however, ripping off big play after big play. Normally, the Aggies play a pretty complementary brand of football with both the offense and defense contributing. However, their game against Arkansas proved that they have one side of the ball they can always rely on, thanks to their depth on the offensive side of the ball.

Every week, Texas A&M seemingly has a new breakout star on offense, and their showdown against Arkansas was no different. Last week, it was running back Jamarion Morrow. This week, it was wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman who provided the Aggies with a big spark on offense. If the Aggies want to push for a College Football Playoff bid, their offensive depth will be the reason why.

Aggies depth paves the way

Bethel-Roman had just five catches for 86 yards on the season coming into today’s matchup against Arkansas. With all the attention on Mario Craver and KC Concepcion, however, Bethel-Roman was able to feast and cash in on some big time moments today, pulling in four catches for 83 yards and a touchdown.

After the game, Bethel-Roman spoke about the depth the Aggies have on offense. “It feels great. Anyone in that locker room can do anything. That’s what we can here to do. When our number is called we just play up to our standard.”

It’s a testament to the coaching staff that head coach Mike Elko and offensive coordinator Collin Klein have built and their ability to develop playmakers at every position on offense. No matter who it is or what position it is, someone new is coming up with a big play every week, and those playmakers are going to be the backbone of their Playoff push.

Le’Veon Moss misses time? No problem, Rueben Owens II can shoulder the load on the ground. Concepcion and Craver covered up? Here comes Ashton Bethel-Roman, Nate Boerkircher, Terry Bussey, Amari Niblack, or Theo Melin Ohrstrom. Combine that with the dual threat ability of Marcel Reed, and A&M’s offense has the makings of a juggernaut for the rest of the season.
