Micah Parsons gave new Cowboys player an evil welcome in practice

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons gets ready to rush Dak Prescott in training camp.

Can somebody get Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott a brighter red-colored jersey, please? At least for when star pass rusher Micah Parsons faces a one-on-one against any backup offensive lineman, no?

That's what I couldn't stop thinking about when Parsons got two sacks during Thursday's two-minute drill on the recently acquired offensive lineman Chuma Edoga.

Edoga, who is joining the Cowboys after three years with the New York Jets and another with the Atlanta Falcons, got quite the harsh welcome into the team filling in for right tackle Terence Steele and lining up across the terrifying No. 11.

Parson's first sack was a reminder of the insane speed he takes with him to the field. I mean, need I remind you that he's out there beating Tyreek Hill, Ja'Marr Chase, and Deuce Vaughn in footraces? In the rep below, the Cowboys' two-time All-Pro beat Edoga to the edge and won the hand battle with absolute ease to get to Prescott for the would-be sack.

Moments later, Edoga would find out the magic of Parsons that has taken the NFL by storm. His inside move with the outside foot in front. A lot has been made, particularly by PFF's John Owning's fantastic analysis, about how the Cowboys superstar uses this technique to catch linemen off guard with an inside move that can happen as early as his third step.

It's fair to say Parsons got to Dak with even more ease than the previous rep.

If iron sharpens iron, Edoga is getting the best there is to elevate his game as he battles for a significant role in the offensive line. He could provide both inside and outside depth for a Cowboys offensive line that really needs it.
