The Miami Dolphins suffered a brutal 48-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Fins' first setback of the season.
With a game that lopsided in the wrong direction, there are plenty of players whose play fell way short of the standard the team had set over the first three weeks. However, there were also some standouts who gave notable performances.
Here are some players whose stock is rising and falling after Sunday…
Stock rising:
De'Von Achane. What else can you say? He was simply phenomenal for a second straight week. 8 carries for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. He looks faster and runs harder than anyone else out of the backfield. He should be considered the team's lead running back moving forward.
Andrew Van Ginkel. Filling in for Jaelan Phillips for the second time this year, Van Ginkel was amazing in relief yet again. He had both of Miami's sacks with 3 of the team's 6 tackles for loss. As this author said after the Patriots game, Van Ginkel simply is playing to well to not be on the field right now.
Braxton Berrios. He led the Dolphins with 6 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. His routes were solid, and he snagged everything thrown his way. The brightest spot in the passing game on Sunday for sure. He's cementing himself as the team's slot receiver and a go to guy to move the chains on third down.
Stock falling:
Kader Kohou. A brutal game for #4, matched up with Stefon Diggs for a large part of the game. He couldn't stay with the Bills' top wideout, allowing two of Diggs' three touchdowns on the day, including one where he allowed the catch, had his arms wrapped around Diggs, couldn't bring him down, and watched him break free and run to the end zone. A very forgettable day for one of Miami's starting corners.
Dolphins' pass rush. With the exception of Van Ginkel, almost no one else could even touch Josh Allen. The Dolphins couldn't even get him to move out of the pocket much, and he responded with a dominating performance. Three QB hits (two of which were Van Ginkel's sacks) aren't going to cut it against a star like Allen.
Raheem Mostert. Where Achane shined, Mostert had a day to forget. He totaled 9 yards on 7 carries and fumbled twice, losing one of them. Mostert is indeed one of the fastest players of the league when he gets moving, but right now Achane looks quicker to the hole and just the overall more explosive player. The snap share between the two will be very interesting to watch next week.
