Former Tennessee Vols defensive back Brandon Davis took to Twitter on Wednesday to slam former UT head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Davis played under Pruitt at Tennessee in 2018 and 2019. The Louisiana native entered the transfer portal in 2020 after he was shot in the leg at a bar.

The initial report suggested that Davis accidentally shot himself at the bar. Davis, however, quickly dispelled that rumor via a Tweet.

It was reported earlier this year that a teammate unintentionally shot Davis.

Davis declined to press charges against the unknown teammate.

On Wednesday, Davis took to Twitter to get some things off his chest, saying that he never wanted to enter the transfer portal. Davis also said that Pruitt never once visited him during his recovery to make sure he was okay.

The Pruitt era at Tennessee was full of toxic stories like this one. Vol fans should feel fortunate that Pruitt is gone and Josh Heupel is now leading the program.
