A former Tennessee Vols star was among the latest round of NFL cuts on Tuesday.

With NFL teams needing to trim rosters to 85 players by Tuesday afternoon, the Tennessee Titans released wide receiver Josh Malone.

Malone signed with the Titans earlier this offseason.

Malone, who played at Tennessee from 2014 to 2016, was selected in the fourth round (No. 128 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The former Vol spent two seasons with the Bengals before landing with the New York Jets for two seasons. He’s also spent time with the Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers.

Malone has just 11 receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown in his NFL career.

The 26-year-old Tennessee native will look to catch on with another team, but that could be tough as teams are on the verge of making some really tough decisions.

One option for Malone that could be viable would be the Chicago Bears.

The Bears don’t have a lot of quality wide receiver depth, plus Malone spent some time in Green Bay so he’s likely familiar with Chicago offensive coordinator Luke Getsy (who was the Packers’ quarterbacks coach prior to joining the Bears).
