Former Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt reportedly blazes past 24 mph

Jalin Hyatt ran past defenders with ease last year in Knoxville. With what he's doing in New York so far, it's even easier to understand how he made it look so easy.
The New York Giants rookie has been turning heads so far in training camp. Whether it's on a deep touchdown or short passes, Hyatt has been looking like a rookie who's becoming comfortable with the Giants offense.
However, it was a tweet from Giants beat writer Art Stapleton on Sunday that really emphasized what type of ceiling Hyatt might have in the NFL.
As a point of reference, Tyreek Hill – considered by many to be the fastest player in the league – has a top recorded game speed of 23.2 miles per hour in 2016.
It wasn't the first time that Hyatt hit 24 miles per hour either. At the NFL combine, Hyatt ran a 4.40 40-yard dash, which Hyatt noted he ran with a tweaked hamstring. He reached a top speed of 24.29 miles per hour on that run, per Next Gen Stats.
It's one thing to top 24 miles per hour at the combine in shorts, a t-shirt, and on a hard surface. It's another to do it wearing some football equipment on a football field. And while some might be somewhat skeptical about what a team says about their players, this was supposedly clocked by GPS and not by someone with a quick finger on a stopwatch – and it happened multiple times.
At minimum, Hyatt's speed has proven itself thus far to be undeniably among the very best in the NFL. In what's become a passing league where there is a premium on speed, Hyatt could be in store for a very big rookie season with the Giants.
