It’s been a rough week for the Tennessee Vols.

Not only did Tennessee lose by 25 points to South Carolina — essentially eliminating UT from the College Football Playoff conversation — but there have also been rumors of locker room issues hovering over the program all week.

When it comes to those rumored locker room issues, everything is speculation at this point.

Locker room spats happen from time to time and they’re not always indicative of lingering issues. When you have a team with over 100 players on the roster, not everyone is going to see eye to eye every day. That’s just as true at Georgia as it is at Tennessee. Just because a team is competing for a national championship doesn’t mean the locker room is a utopia.

Vols running back Jabari Small makes reassuring comment ahead of matchup with Vanderbilt

Vols running back Jabari Small made a comment this week that should be reassuring to fans after Tennessee’s first bad week under Josh Heupel.

“It is all about how you figure it out and how you respond to adversity,” said Small on Tuesday. “So, I have full faith in these guys, these coaches, and the staff. I think we will respond in the right direction.”

There’s been a lot of negative this week when it comes to the Vols. But a big win against Vanderbilt would erase a lot of that negativity.

The disappointment of losing to South Carolina will last forever. Players, fans, and coaches will never totally get over that loss. But getting the program back on track with a win against the Commodores would significantly change the narrative currently surrounding this team.

Which of these teams should make the college football playoff?
