The Tennessee Vols are one of several college football programs hoping to land 2026 four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter.

Carter, 6-foot-3/245 lbs from Douglasville, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 23 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 22 player in the state of Georgia.

The four-star recruit decommitted from Texas A&M on November 1 (Carter took an unofficial visit to Tennessee that same day).

Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Texas are also in the mix for Carter.

Carter told On3 this week that he plans to announce his commitment on December 3, which is the first day of the early signing period.

The Georgia native took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend for the Vols’ win over New Mexico State.

“My parents and I were very impressed and they set the bar really high,” said Carter to On3 of his recent visit to Tennessee. “I liked the game-day atmosphere. The team played hard, and I liked how they switched players in and out. My parents liked seeing the school and spending time with the coaches too.”

The Vols currently have 23 players committed to their 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 8 in the nation.
