2026 Vols 5-star QB commit Faizon Brandon gets positive news near the end of his senior season of high school football
2026 Tennessee Vols 5-star quarterback commit Faizon Brandon injured his hand in late August.
2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, a Tennessee Vols commit for over a year, received some positive news on Tuesday.
Brandon hasn’t played for Grimsley High School since injuring his hand in late August.
“Faizon injured his thumb in the overtime win against West Charlotte on the last play of the game,” said Grimsley head coach Daryl Brown to WGHP in early September. “Nothing too serious. He’s going to be out a few weeks. We don’t know. It could be a couple of weeks. It could be four weeks. It’s just kind of a week-to-week thing. When they give him ok to go, he’s going to roll.”
Tennessee Vols commit Faizon Brandon cleared to return to action
According to a report from WFMY’s Brian Hall on Tuesday, Brandon has been cleared to return to the field.
“It’s feeling pretty good,” said Brandon this week when asked about his hand injury. “It feels better than [it did] the night after the West Charlotte game. I’m very thankful for the doctors that helped me out and did the surgery to help me get back to how I am now.”
Brandon also said that the injury has made him appreciate the game “a lot more.”
Brandon, 6-4, 200 pounds, from Greensboro, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
