Florida State commit’s outfit during official visit to Tennessee is causing some major panic in Tallahassee

The Tennessee Volunteers are hoping to flip a 2027 recruit who is from the Chattanooga area from the Florida State Seminoles, and it looks like UT is pushing all of the right buttons.

The Tennessee Vols are hoping to flip a three-star commit from the Florida State Seminoles.

And it looks like the Vols are trending to do just that.

2027 three-star athlete Dayon Cooper — who can play wide receiver or cornerback — has been committed to Florida State since April (FSU is recruiting Cooper as a cornerback), but the Volunteers are hoping to change that.

Cooper, 6-foot/180 pounds from South Pittsburg, TN, is rated as the No. 22 player in the state of Tennessee. He’s in Knoxville this weekend for his official visit with the Vols.

And his choice of attire has folks in Tallahassee feeling like a flip is imminent.

Simply wearing Vols gear on an official visit doesn’t mean Cooper is guaranteed to flip to Tennessee. But given his status as an in-state recruit, it seems fair to assume the Vols are a legitimate threat to land him if they decide to push hard for him.

On3’s Chad Simmons reported this week that Tennessee has been “aggressively” recruiting Cooper despite his commitment to Florida State, so it certainly sounds like they’re pushing hard.

Tennessee is recruiting Cooper to play wide receiver, which is reportedly his preferred position. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Cooper is a Vol commit by the end of the month, if not sooner.
