The Tennessee Vols are reportedly ‘trending’ for a coveted transfer guard who is visiting Knoxville
The Tennessee Vols are working hard to bolster their roster this offseason. Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes is showing interest in several potential transfer additions that could help the Vols in a big way.
The Tennessee Vols are reportedly “trending” for a highly coveted transfer guard.
Notre Dame transfer guard Jalen Haralson is visiting Tennessee on Tuesday, and it sounds like the Vols have a good chance to land the Indiana native.
On3’s Joe Tipton noted on Tuesday that Tennessee is “trending upward” for Haralson.
“Notre Dame transfer wing Jalen Haralson, a former McDonald’s All-American, will head to Knoxville today to begin his official visit with Tennessee,” wrote Tipton. “His list also includes North Carolina and Ohio State, but the Vols are picking up steam in this recruitment and are trending upward.”
Haralson, 6-foot-7/220 pounds, averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game as a freshman this past season at Notre Dame.
The Vols are also in the mix for Wake Forest transfer guard Juke Harris, who is a similar type of player to Haralson.
Michigan and North Carolina are also in the mix for Harris. It doesn’t seem likely that Haralson and Harris will end up at the same school, so it’ll be interesting to see how this scenario plays out.
If Haralson is ready to commit after his visit, do the Vols wait on Harris? Or do they decide it’s not worth the risk of missing out on Haralson? Or does Tennessee try to do the improbable and land both?
We’ll see in the coming days. Buckle up, portal season is already wild.
