One of the Tennessee Vols' 2025 commits isn't expected to sign this week when the early signing period starts.

2025 four-star defensive back Onis Konanbanny has been committed to Tennessee since August, but he's coming off a recent visit to Florida. Because of that visit, Konanbanny is reportedly considering delaying his signing.

“I am not an early enrollee, so I am thinking about waiting and signing in February,” said Konanbanny to On3. “I want to see how I feel. Tennessee is a great school, but Florida is giving me a lot to think about too.

Konanbanny, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Columbia, SC (he's originally from France), is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 31 cornerback in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of South Carolina.

This recruiting battle is going to come down to Tennessee and Florida. Konanbanny essentially has to decide which school he's more comfortable with and it sounds like he could take some extra time to make that decision. Both programs, however, will likely push him to sign early so they can have a better idea of what their roster situations look like heading into the offseason.

Tennessee lost a commitment from 2025 four-star defensive back Shaedy Hayward on Sunday. Losing Konanbanny would be another tough break for the Vols.
