The Tennessee Vols currently have one five-star player (quarterback Faizon Brandon) committed to their 2026 recruiting class.
But that could be changing in the next few months.
Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney pointed out 2026 four-star wide receiver Tyreek King, a Vols commit since last October, as a recruit who could soon be elevated to five-star status.
"It would be shocking if Tennessee commit Tyreek King, Georgia pledge Vance Spafford or Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei’s Kayden Dixon-Wyatt wasn’t heavily in the discussion for a five-star bump in the coming months," wrote Gorney.
King, 5-foot-11/170 lbs from Knoxville, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 15 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 106 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Rivals.com is a bit higher on King, rating the Tennessee commit as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 28 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
King, who was recently compared to former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, is being heavily pursued by the Michigan Wolverines. But it seems unlikely that a program will be able to swipe King from the Volunteers.
The Tennessee native is viewed by 247Sports as a "picture perfect fit" for the Vols' offense, thanks to his excellent body control and route tempo.
