The Tennessee Vols appear to be a major threat to swipe a key 2027 four-star commit from the Florida State Seminoles.
2027 four-star athlete Kaneilius Purdy has been committed to Florida State since late March, but he's nowhere close to shutting down his recruitment.
Purdy told Rivals.com this week that he's going to "keep taking visits". He also noted that he's staying in regular communication with Tennessee.
"We talk every week with the OC (Joey Halzle) and other coaches," said Purdy. "They told me they're gonna make me decommit."
Purdy, who has already visited Tennessee, also added that things are "calm" at UT and everyone is "locked in".
Purdy, 6-foot/190 lbs from Lake Wales, Fl., is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 16 athlete in the nation and the No. 29 player in the state of Florida.
The four-star recruit could play either defensive back or wide receiver at the next level, though many think he'll most likely end up at wide receiver.
There's still a long way to go in this battle, and it'll be tough to pull Purdy away from Florida State, which he has previously described as his "dream school", but the Vols are very much in the mix.
