Tennessee Vols fans are probably still not over watching Amari Rodgers, the son of Vol legend Tee Martin, catch a couple of passes for the Clemson Tigers in their win against Alabama in the 2018 National Championship game.
Fortunately for Vol fans, they might have a decent shot at landing Rodgers' younger brother Kaden Martin.
But first the Vols have to offer him.
Kaden, who is also an accomplished baseball player, is a 6-foot/180 lb dual threat quarterback. He's currently a freshman (class of 2022), but he already has offers from Alabama, Duke, Florida Atlantic and USC.
While Rodgers never seriously considered Tennessee (it's likely his dad didn't want him playing for Butch Jones), the Vols should be squarely in the mix for Kaden if/when they offer (you have to assume it's only a matter of time).
Tennessee has let too many players that should've been Vols slip away in recent years (Rodgers, Tee Higgins and Trevor Lawrence to name a few). If UT is going to return to greatness (I feel like that phrase gets used a lot), then they have to lock down Vol legacies and top players from east/southeast Tennessee.
Since Kaden is moving to Knoxville with his dad, he falls under both of those labels.
I'm sure Jeremy Pruitt is well aware of Kaden and will be in contact with him soon. But there's really no need for the Vols to wait around on this one.
