UT-Chattanooga forward Abbey Cornelius had an emotional reaction to playing on the court named after legendary former Lady Vols head coach Pat Summitt on Monday night.

Cornelius, who attended high school in Knoxville at Harvin Valley Academy, grew up going to Lady Vols games while Summitt was the head coach. So it’s understandable that getting to play on the court named after Summitt meant a lot to the East Tennessee native.

This just shows the type of impact that Pat Summitt had on the game of basketball.

The fact that playing in Knoxville stirred that kind of emotion from an opposing player — albeit one who “bleeds orange” — says a lot about the legacy of Summitt, one of the best coaches this game has ever seen.
